Banned Country Songs – Garth Brooks, ‘The Thunder Rolls’
The 1991 CMA Video of the Year lasted all of one day on major music video channels. Despite endorsements from numerous women's and domestic violence support groups, 'The Thunder Rolls' clip was pulled from CMT and TNN. ''We felt the video needs to be put in a proper context, that it couldn't be intermingled ... with our regular programming," TNN spokesperson Jerry Bailey told Entertainment Weekly. In the video, Garth Brooks plays a wife abuser who gets killed at the end of the clip.
