Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their divorce on Monday (July 20), bringing to an end one of contemporary country music's greatest love stories. The couple were one of the sweetest and funniest pairings in the entertainment world, as their collected tweets attest.

The country superstars were country's music's reigning couple during their four-year marriage, with fans eagerly eating up any tidbit of information they could get about them. Though they were very protective of their time together away from the spotlight, they often used their Twitter feeds to give fans a glimpse into their home life, joking back and forth, and many times revealing a very sweet side to their relationship.

Shelton and Lambert's tweets revealed a very ordinary domestic side to their life away from the entertainment business, where they did the same kinds of things that any other couple might do — burning their dinner, tweeting each other when they're in the same room and giving each other support, along with a fair measure of good-natured teasing.

The couple also weren't afraid to publicly address the many rumors of trouble in their marriage that persisted in the tabloids from virtually the day they got together. They dismissed them over and over again, with comments like one from Shelton in April of 2014, when he joked that he hoped he'd get all of their liquor if they ever split up, or another post in which he joked that they were looking forward to the $100 million dollars they would reportedly split by divorcing.
