2003: Runner-Up in Miss Northeastern State University Pageant

A forgotten fact about Carrie Underwood is that she went back to finish college after winning 'American Idol' in 2005. Underwood graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Mass Communication and an emphasis in journalism from Northeastern State University. She was just three credits short of graduation when she audition for 'Idol' and withdrew to compete on the show. While at NSU, she became a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and was runner-up in the Miss NSU pageant.
