Casey James went to great lengths to pull an April Fool's Day joke on his fans. The "Fall Apart" singer posted a video with his "new haircut" — a shaved head — on Twitter, but as suspected, it was an elaborate prank!
It all started with a series of tweets, with the singer admitting that he was going to try to highlight his hair for the warm weather. Then, James shared that the highlights went horribly wrong, and how would he fix it? Next, he posted a very filtered video that showed he'd decided to just shave it all off instead of dealing with a few bad highlights.
We asked ToC readers if you thought the video was real or a hoax and, overwhelmingly, he couldn't fool you! Now, the American Idol star dishes that it was all a prank.
"So yes, it was an April Fools," James starts in his most recent video, (complete with those long blonde locks). The clip includes a load of "thank you" messages to everyone involved with the prank (apparently, it took a lot of work to make the bald head look real).
"Thanks to all the fans for being so kind," he concludes. "You were crazy nice and I couldn't believe some of the comments I was reading."
James admits he thought that his fans would bust him — but most didn't! He says he was "shocked that I got away with it at all." In the video, the kind-hearted singer says that he was even avoiding friends and family so he didn't have to lie to them! Hilarious.
