Chris Stapleton proved to be an unexpected treat for the crowd at Pink's first of two back-to-back concerts at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

On Tuesday's (May 21) show, Pink began performing her song "Love Me Anyway," which is a duet with Stapleton off her latest album Hurts 2B Human. Once Stapleton's part came in the song, he surprised the crowd by appearing on stage to finish the song with her.

The pair performed with breathtaking vocals, as admiring fans screamed in appreciation. By the end of the song, the arena was on its feet applauding. Pink even jokingly fell on the stage in awe of Stapleton's performance.

Pink shared an image of the duo performing captioning the post, "Tonight. Madison Square Garden. One of my absolute favorite songwriters, favorite voice, and person. Chris Stapleton. What an absolute honor to share a stage with you, my friend. ‘Love me Anyway.'"

Pink co-wrote "Love Me Anyway" with Allen Shamblin and Thomas Douglas. Pink previously shared a video of her reaction to Stapleton recording their duet.

Pink first stepped into the country genre in 2016 for her collaboration with Kenny Chesney on "Setting The World On Fire." She also performed her single "Barbies" at the 2017 CMA Awards. Meanwhile, Stapleton has dove into the pop realm with Justin Timberlake on "Say Something" off Timberlake's album Man of the Woods.

Pink is currently on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour in support of Hurts 2B Human. The tour travels globally and ends in Texas in November. Stapleton will be busy this summer performing at numerous music festivals. He and his wife Morgane recently welcomed their fifth child.
