Chris Stapleton Is a Lego in His ‘Second One to Know’ Music Video
Chris Stapleton turned into a Lego figure for his "Second One to Know" music video. The 41-year-old partnered with the Lego Group and Pure Imagination Studios to give fans a taste of what one of his concerts would look like in the Lego world.
The music video also features a Lego cameo from actor Chris Pratt, who has been a longtime Stapleton fan. The country star's wife, Morgane, and his band members and crew were all turned into the animated Lego figurines for the music video, alsoi.
The "Second One to Know" video storyline is something out of a superhero movie. Stapleton fights off ninjas and a water dragon as a giant robot, all while performing a concert!
"We wanted to do something fun for this song and it always sounded like a fight scene to me, so we approached the Lego Group with this idea and a rough outline of what we wanted to do," Stapleton shares in a press release.
"Once the Lego Group gave us the green light, David Coleman [producer and director] and the team at Pure Imagination took that outline and refined and built it into what it has become," he explains. "Along the way, the fight got bigger and more absurd and I got a front-row seat to watch the massive amount of work that animators put into what they do. The tiniest details were thought about and discussed and edited and revised. My kids even got to be a part of designing their characters and it was a cool thing for us to get to do together. It was an incredible experience for me and I couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
Chris and Morgane Stapleton’s Outlaw State of Kind fund will donate royalties from the music video to the Lego Foundation’s Playful Parenting program, which promotes playful interactions between caregivers and children from birth to age three.
Stapleton co-wrote "Second One to Know" with Mike Henderson. It's found on his 2017 album, From A Room: Volume 1. The country superstar is nominated for three categories at the upcoming 2019 CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for "Millionaire." He will also perform a duet of "Love Me Anyway" with Pink.
