Chris Young Is ‘Floored’ With Grammy Nomination

Chris Young is nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance this year, the first Grammy nomination of his career.

"It floored me," Young tells Taste of Country. "I wasn’t expecting it at all. It’s one of those things that any genre of artist dreams of: their first Grammy nomination. So it’s a really big deal. I get to go to the show as well and be a part of the Grammys.”

That begs the question on the heart of every single girl nationwide: Who is Young taking as his date to the Grammys? "I’m just going by myself. I know my manager will be out there and I know some other people from the office will be there, too, so I’ll probably be sitting with one of them."

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles at the Staples Center on Sunday, Feb. 13 and will air live on the CBS Television Network from 8-11:30PM (ET/PT).

Young is currently on tour with Rascal Flatts and Luke Bryan. He will also open a few dates for Blake Shelton on his All About Tonight Tour, and he will be in Los Angeles at the CMA Songwriter Series on Feb. 15.
