Chris Young’s ‘I’m Comin’ Over’ Album Debuts at No. 1
Chris Young has the No. 1 country album in America. The singer's fifth studio album I'm Comin' Over debuted on top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart after selling 57,000 copies in a week. It's his first-ever No. 1 album.
The news comes as the project's title track tops the Billboard Country Airplay chart for a second straight week. "I'm Comin' Over" is the album's first single, and is the fastest rising of his career. It's his sixth Billboard Country Airplay chart-topper (seventh overall) and his first since "You" in 2012. To date, "I'm Comin' Over" has gone gold for 500K in sales.
The I'm Comin' Over album is marked by songs of love and love lost. It's Young's most personal album to date, with the singer admitting that there are number of songs about people he's been in a relationship with. The title track is one that comes from personal experience, he tells Taste of Country. Other notable songs include "I Know a Guy," "Sober Saturday Night" with Vince Gill and "Think of You" with Cassadee Pope.
“When I heard her sing live I knew she would be the perfect person to sing on ‘Think of You’ and I was hoping too that we could hit the road together at some point once the new record releases," Young says.
He'll get his wish. In January, Pope will join Young for the I'm Comin' Over Tour. Tickets for all 13 shows are on sale now, beginning with a Jan. 21 date in Lowell, Mass. and lasting through a Feb. 26 show in Baltimore, Md.
