The Civil Wars Singer Joy Williams Gives Birth to Baby Boy
Congratulations are in order for the Civil Wars singer Joy Williams and her husband Nate Yetton, who welcomed a baby boy into the world over the weekend. Miles Alexander, the couple's first child together, was born on Saturday, June 30.
The new mom took to her Twitter page just a day after giving birth to share the news, gushing to her fans about her newfound appreciation for love after meeting her baby for the first time.
"Now I really know what love at first sight means after meeting my son, Miles Alexander," she wrote. "Born yesterday, all happy and healthy. xo"
Williams announced her pregnancy back in February, just days before the duo's big sweep at the 2012 Grammy Awards. She and her Civil Wars bandmate John Paul White took home trophies for Best Folk Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
The Civil Wars performed at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival earlier this month, but are officially taking a break for Williams to enjoy some time with her new baby. The duo is set to record new music in their downtime away from the stage. The Americana/alt-country pair is perhaps best known in the country world for their work with Taylor Swift on the song 'Safe & Sound,' which was recorded for use in 'The Hunger Games' movie.
Williams' husband, Yetton, is the manager for the Civil Wars. Our best wishes and biggest congratulations to the couple on their new arrival!
