The music world has lost a legend with the untimely death of Prince. The singer was found dead at his home at Paisley Park in Minnesota on Thursday (April 21). He was 57.

A family member confirmed the icon's death, according to CNN. The news outlet reports that police are currently on the scene at Prince's home, investigating his death.

Prince influenced artists in all genres of music, including country. Darius Rucker is a longtime fan of his as can be seen from the video above. In a nearly six-minute clip, the country singer performs a cover of "Purple Rain" in 2015 in Nashville, Tenn. No doubt a favorite song of his, Rucker frequently closed his sets with a spirited cover of "Purple Rain."

After learning of Prince's death, Rucker tweeted the following:

Prince released the song in 1984 and it has made its way to many "best of" lists including Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Rucker will head out on his headlining tour this summer. The 2016 Good For a Good Time Tour includes guests Dan + Shay and Michael Ray as support acts. The three-time Grammy winner will visit more than 30 cities for the trek, which is set to kick off in Tampa, Fla., on June 3 and run through the early part of September.

Rucker has also partnered with Project Rebuild for the upcoming dates. The campaign includes a partnership between Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and Military Warriors Support Foundation to assist in rebuilding the lives of wounded veterans by helping place them in mortgage-free homes to help ease the transition back to civilian life.
