Eli Young Band have revealed a new song that's perfect for summertime. "Saltwater Gospel" is their first single under a new deal with Valory Music Co.

The band landed three No. 1 hits with "Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” and “Drunk Last Night.” "Saltwater Gospel" ships to radio next week and will be available via iTunes on Friday, June 10.

According to a press release, the song "immediately transports the listener to their favorite beach, where the mystical power of the ocean melts away the troubles of everyday life -- while connecting them to their own spirituality."

The lyrics are about getting closer to God by communing with nature: “I’m out here by myself, but I know I'm not alone / Yeah I got all the proof I need, and it sure makes me believe / When I go down and sink my feet in the water and I soak up that sun and I watch it set / Yeah, I can feel the power of the saltwater gospel / I’m as close to God as I can get."

"Sometimes you just have that gut feeling you've come across something special," EYB singer Mike Eli says. "When I heard this song, it moved me. I love that it is about so much more than just saltwater.”

Eli Young Band producer Ross Copperman co-wrote "Saltwater Gospel" with Nicolle Galyon and Ashley Gorley. It's the lead single from a forthcoming album, EYB's first for Valory Music. The group plan to debut new music at various tour stops over the summer.

"The Eli Young Band are back with perhaps the most infectious new song of the summer," Big Machine Label Group President & CEO Scott Borchetta says. "Don’t overthink it, just let 'Saltwater Gospel' play and let it wash over you. You will then know that summer has truly arrived.”
