Eli Young Band Announce New EP, Preview New Single [Listen]
Eli Young Band fans have a lot to look forward to in March.
The fast-rising country group is set to release a new EP, Turn It On, and they are letting fans hear a preview of the title song.
The uptempo track features an irresistibly catchy repeating chorus that will likely make it one of this summer's sing-along-in-the-car hits: "I can't turn it off, turn it off, turn it off the way you turn it / Turn it on, turn it on, turn it on, girl I'll admit right now / I'm just about halfway gone / And you can do no wrong ..."
The group has steadily developed one of the most interesting bodies of work in contemporary country music with hits like "Crazy Girl," "Even if It Breaks Your Heart" and "Drunk Last Night." Their latest music continues that progression, and when Republic Nashville President Jimmy Harnen first heard the new songs, he decided to fast-track the new project as an EP instead of waiting for an entire album.
“We live in a time when fans are consuming music at a voracious pace as well as having a strong penchant for instant gratification,” Harnen explains in a press release. "When we heard the fantastic cutting edge new music from EYB our only instinct was to get it out there to the fans as soon as possible.”
Turn It On is set to drop via iTunes on March 10, with the single impacting country radio on March 9. The group will spend much of this summer touring behind the new music, including a very special appearance at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival, which runs June 12-14 at Hunter Mountain, N.Y. The three-day festival boasts an all-star lineup topped off by headliners Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Toby Keith.
