Florida Georgia Line Surprise Bebe Rexha, Fans at Teen Choice Awards [Watch]
Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha's "Meant to Be" won Choice Country Song at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (Aug. 12), but the big shock came when Rexha went up to accept the surfboard on behalf of the hitmakers.
"Oh my God you guys, this is so cool,” Rexha told the audience, acknowledging the win.
It was made to look as though FGL would be joining her on Skype to accept the award, but there were 'technical difficulties,' so they ended up surprising her in person — much to the delight of the adoring crowd.
“There is no doubt in my mind that this song was anointed by the hand of God,” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard remarked as Rexha still looked slightly shocked. “Thank the Lord for changing our life with this song.”
The country duo also headed to their socials after the big surprise, sharing their excitement with their fans.
It’s been a big week for everyone involved in the making of “Meant to Be,” as the song currently has the longest-running streak on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
"I'm so honored to be a writer and an artist on this song," Hubbard says in a recent interview. “I'm thankful to just be one of the many people who put so much energy and effort into making music history. Now, it's time to get back in the studio and try to break the new record." FGL's Brian Kelley adds, "The power of music continues to blow our minds, and we are extremely humbled and thankful that 'Meant' has spent the better part of a year at the top. The connection we feel with our fans through our music is extra special with this song. Bebe and her camp were a blast to work with."
