Gary Allan – Then and Now

Early in Gary Allan's career, he was more of a hat act than he is now. The California country singer has long been known for some of the darkest, most revealing lyrics in the business. These days, he's also known for showing off his heavily tattooed arms, something the country duds in the "Then" picture don't allow for.

Comparing Allan's 2012 picture with the photo from the 2001 CMA Music Festival (known then as Fan Fair), one notices the hardened features he's developed in the decade since. He's still apt to flash that big smile at press events, but for the most part, he lives a quieter, more off-camera life than many stars. We have to point out that at age 44, Allan seems to be in better shape than his 33-year-old self.
