Granger Smith Treks Across Texas in New ‘Sleeping on the Interstate’ Video

Granger Smith's new 'Sleeping on the Interstate' video is four minutes of feel-good music and soul-touching scenes, as it encompasses the singer's 100-mile walk across Texas to Ft. Hood military base for the troops.

Last month, the singer trekked from South Austin, Texas to the Ft. Hood military base in Killeen, walking along highways and beside 18-wheelers to raise awareness for the U.S. military. Not only that, he wore a pair of combat boots identical to the ones the soldiers wear, and camped in tents along the route before completing his five-day adventure.

The 'Sleeping on the Interstate' music video opens with sound clips of news stories about his walk, and leads into a mix of action shot photos and real footage of the Texas singer's journey. Along the way, Smith picked up fans, news media, fellow musicians and random folks who were also eager to show their support for the troops through their steps.

The video draws to a close with a simple but powerful message from Smith and his followers: "We took five days, 100 miles, 236,548 steps to tell 350,000 overseas and millions of U.S. active duty, reserve and vets ... thank you."
