Jake Owen was all smiles on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 29) in Nashville as he entered the CMA building on Music Row for the latest No. 1 party in town.

What made this No. 1 party even sweeter for the singer was the fact that everybody was packed in the building to celebrate his successes, namely his chart-topping hit 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night.'

While Owen had come extremely close to reaching No. 1 on the country singles chart in the past with 'Startin' With Me' and 'Don't Think I Can't Love You' (both songs peaked at No. 2), 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' marked his very first trip to the top, where it spent two straight weeks in September.

Prior to the party, Owen met with media and radio stations to discuss the long road that led him to today.

"Last night I sat at the house, and I was thinking how was I going to answer all these questions today, because I needed to sound pretty profound," Owen told Taste of Country with a grin. "It's amazing, really. After years of working at it, to finally have one after six years of putting out songs ... it's a really good feeling. More importantly I think it's a good feeling collectively with the group of people that I have who have helped me get here. I didn't do it by myself, that's for sure."

Also on hand for the celebration were the song's three writers: Dylan Altman, Terry Sawchuk and Capitol Record's latest artist on the rise, Eric Paslay.

"It's pretty awesome that the world got to hear [this song]," said Paslay, whose debut single, 'Never Really Wanted,' is currently making its way up the country singles chart. "Jake has his first No. 1 ... he's deserved a No. 1 for many records. I am learning every hour just how incredibly hard it is for people to hear your music. I am so excited for Jake!"

Owen's latest single from his 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' album is 'Alone With You.' Owen recently shot a video for the song, which will premiere today.
