'Beachin,'' Jake Owen's second single from ‘Days of Gold,’ confirms something fans found out on ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night.’ The Florida-raised singer is at home with sand between his toes and a cold drink in his hand. He is a good fit for the summertime sand-and-surf throne previously occupied by Kenny Chesney.

Much like his biggest hit, ‘Beachin’’ comes with whiffs of coconut-scented SPF-50. (The title track, by comparison, was more like SPF-2, a little wild and dangerous and perhaps not for everyone). It’s a love story, sort of. Really, what this song is about is a lazy day on the coast. The warmth, the flavors and the smells seep through the speakers with every word from Owen’s lips.

So just watchin' her blonde hair, sunburn, stare at them white caps rolling over / Laid back in a thrift store beach chair, droppin' limes in her Corona / Well she looks back, yeah, she throws me a kiss like, honey I sure want you / And it's a hundred and three between her and me and only 92 in Daytona,” he sings after an introduction that includes a little orchestration.

Much like ‘Barefoot …,’ ‘Beachin’’ leans on a huge chorus. Producer Joey Moi is aiming for a beachside cantina singalong feel, and he gets it -- even if it does seem to be a cantina full of men.

And it's sunshine, blue eyes, tan lines, so tight / Rollin' white sand, cold can koozie in my hand, just a summertime strollin’ / Chillin', breazin', sippin', singin' whoaoaoh / Beachin.”

The beauty of releasing this song in January is that by the time summer rolls around, it will be in position to be an anthem. 'Beachin'' is sure to sound great in front of 10,000 fans during his headlining tour stops this summer.

Why Fans Will Love It: Owen is moving in as country's favorite beach bum, a role that fits him like a the perfect pair of blue jeans. There's nothing uptight about his performance, which is essential for a song with this title.

Key Lyrics: "Sunshine, blue eyes, tan lines, so tight / Rollin' white sand, cold can koozie in my hand, just a summertime strollin’ / Chillin', breezin', sippin', singin' whoa oh oh / Beachin”

Did You Know?: It's rare that music video precedes a single release, but that's what happened with Owen's second single from 'Days of Gold.' It's part two of a three-part love story, the first part being the video for 'Days of Gold.' Watch it below.
