Jake Owen Gets Engaged at Hometown Concert
Sorry ladies, but Jake Owen is now officially off the market. The country singer proposed to his girlfriend Lacey Buchanan Saturday night (April 7) while performing at his annual charity event in his Vero Beach, Fla. hometown.
Owen popped the question to his lady love in quite the romantic fashion. While singing 'Don't Think I Can't Love You,' he asked Buchanan to marry him, and of course she accepted. Country Music Is Love reports that the proposal was spontaneous and not pre-planned. Now that ups the romance factor tenfold, doesn't it?
An attendee of the event said that Owen popped the question without a ring, though he did get down on one knee. He revealed to the crowd that he knew he wanted to propose in front of family and friends. Well, when the opportunity presents itself, you just have to go with it, and apparently, Owen did. He can get her a rock at any time! Plus, proposing impulsively while onstage and performing, surrounded by loved ones, is priceless -- moreso than any piece of jewelry, regardless of karats.
Owen and his new fiancée met on the set of his video for 'Eight Second Ride.' She also appeared in the vid for 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night.'
A huge congrats to Owen and Buchanan on their engagement and impending nuptials. We can't wait to see the ring...eventually!
