Jason Aldean + Wife Brittany Finally Shared a Duet – For a Heartbreaking Reason [Watch]

For years now, Jason Aldean fans have been asking the singer when he's going to release a duet with his wife Brittany.

They've never recorded together, but they've also never said it's completely off the table.

Now, fans are finally getting a taste of what a husband-and-wife duet from the Aldeans might sound like — and they're loving the collaboration, even though the circumstances that led the couple to sing together are tragic.

On Tuesday (Sept. 23), Aldean and Brittany shared a video of themselves singing together in memory of the late conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

The Aldeans chose Luke Bryan's song "Drink a Beer" for their tribute to Kirk.

Aldean sang the first verse, and his wife came in and joined him on the chorus. Then, she handled the second verse of the song solo.

"For Charlie," Brittany wrote simply in the caption of the post.

Fans flooded the comments section of the video with applause and support.

"Been waiting patiently for the last 3 years to finally hear y'all sing together," one wrote. "This was the perfect moment."

"Chills!" another added. "You guys are incredible! Charlie would love it."

"Brittany has the voice of an angel," said a third.

“Drink a Beer” was an especially powerful choice, as it remains one of modern country music’s most moving odes to the loss of a loved one.

A pre-fame Chris Stapleton co-wrote this song with Jim Beavers, and it resonated deeply with Bryan, who unexpectedly lost two siblings at a young age. Bryan recorded "Drink a Beer" for his 2013 Crash My Party album and released it as a single, and it became a No. 1 country hit.

Why Haven't Jason Aldean + Brittany Recorded a Duet?

Fans may recall that before she was one half of one of country music's most famous couples, Brittany was a contestant on Season 11 of American Idol. 

Back in 2012, she made it to the Hollywood Round before being eliminated from the show.

Since then, the Aldeans have fielded questions regarding whether they'd ever record a duet as a couple.

In 2023, the country singer told Taste of Country that part of what's holding them back is her confidence level.

"She did Idol, but she's never really been out there and sang a ton in like in front of people or even in the studio or anything like that," Aldean explained. "So I think with her, she's great, but to her, she needs a little more confidence."

He also said that they were open to cutting the right song if it landed in their laps.

"You just never know where that song is gonna come from, and if it happens, we'll cut something and you guys will hear it," he added.

How Did Charlie Kirk Die?

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 during an event at Utah Valley University.

He was 31 years old.

Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson and charged him with the killing.

Millions across the country and the world have joined online or in-person tributes and memorials for Kirk in the nearly two weeks since his death.
