Jimmie Allen and Abby Anderson brought the house down at the Grand Ole Opry in late April. The pair performed their rendition of "Shallow," the hit song from Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born.

"I'm falling / In all the good times, I find myself / Longing for change / And in the bad times, I fear myself," Allen and Anderson -- longtime friends -- sang. "I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in / I'll never meet the ground / Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us / We're far from the shallow now ..."

Allen's choice of wardrobe for the performance made the moment extra-special: He donned a denim jacket with an image of Montgomery Gentry member Troy Gentry. The longtime Opry member died tragically in a helicopter crash in September of 2017.

After their performance, Allen tweeted, "Always a great time singing with this Star @abbya_music. hey Abbs I’m gonna hold your hand last chorus to really sell this thing."

"Had the honor of playing the @opry for my fifth time tonight. Five times. What in the actual heck," Anderson shared in an Instagram post of her own. "Life is busy and sometimes I gotta slow down and remind myself to send God a 'thank you' for moments like this. Stuff that five-year-old Abby dreamed about. The reason my Mama convinced me to stay in piano lessons even though I would bawl my eyes out in every lesson ...

"I’m smiling ear to ear, and I have tears of gratitude in my eyes for that five-year-old. And my Mom. And my label. And my booking agent. And my management. And you guys, and my Opry fam," Anderson adds. "And the God who put me where I am."

This summer, Anderson will be touring with Rob Thomas on the Chip Tooth Smile Tour. Allen, meanwhile, will join Rascal Flatts on their Summer Playlist Tour.
