It’s a BYO ‘Happy Hour’ for Jimmie Allen in Fun New Video [Exclusive Premiere]
When Jimmie Allen says it's "Happy Hour," he means it. The singer is releasing a new song this week, and in the music video he forces a happy hour upon his record label team — not that anyone is bothered.
It's all smiles as Allen and his beer wagon go floor to floor in this clip, premiered exclusively on Taste of Country. Members of his record label team gleefully take a break to sip a cold one with the "Best Shot" singer. The whole thing is bound to leave you feeling a little jealous — come on, Big Jim, where's our cold beer?
The "Happy Hour" video is next up in Allen's Slower Lower Sessions video series. He's releasing one song and video per month, this time letting fans hear a more light-hearted, loving side of his personality. Dallas Wilson, Tate Howell and Allen co-wrote the song, though it won't appear on Allen's debut album later this year. The Slower Lower Sessions were named for the part of Delaware where Allen grew up. Milton, Del. is in the southern part of the state.
Jimmie Allen's Live RISERS Performance Is Irresistible
The often-smiling singer recently opened up to Taste of Country about the struggles he faced shortly after moving to Nashville a decade ago. He kept his eye on a career in music, but took any job he could to make ends meet. At different times Allen was winning stand up comedy contests and living in his car. "I think any struggle you go through either builds your character or breaks you," he says. "I feel for me, it was a good test because you really see how bad you want something."
Allen has a loaded summer touring schedule with fairs and festivals on the horizon through Labor Day.
