Josh Kelley surprised fans in Charlotte, N.C. recently when he reached deep, deep, into his catalog and played 'Interstate Love Song' by Stone Temple Pilots. The country newcomer admits it was the very first time he'd ever played the song in front of an audience, but judging from the video below, he's clearly been practicing. Kelley pulls the song off -- at times even sounding like STP singer Scott Weiland -- with only a momentary hiccup in the middle. He was likely a freshman in high school when the song was originally released in 1994.

In a set aboard radio station WSOC's Redneck Yacht Club, Kelley played songs from his new album 'Georgia Clay' and covers like 'Interstate Love Song' and Tom Petty's 'American Girl.' It was clear the singer was thoroughly enjoying himself. Video on the radio station's website show him joking with fans and fishing off the back end of the boat before his concert began.

Mr. Katherine Heigl will be on the road again this weekend, opening up for Miranda Lambert in Corbin, Ky., before leaving next month to open more than a dozen dates on Taylor Swift's Speak Now Tour.
