Keith Urban Says ‘Life Started’ When He Met Nicole Kidman
It's rare to see country crooner Keith Urban without actress Nicole Kidman on his arm. The happy couple has been married since 2006. And after several movies and albums, and two children, Urban insists that he is still ecstatic to be married to Kidman.
In fact, Urban is so happy with his wife that he told British newspaper The Mirror that his life hadn't really started until he met the Oscar-winning, bombshell actress.
“I wouldn’t say it was a life-changing moment because it was more than that,” Keith said in the interview (quotes via Courier Mail). “It was when my life started. That’s the only way I can describe it. Meeting Nic was that profound for me."
The 'You Gonna Fly' singer admitted that before Kidman came along, he was drinking heavily and living the wild lifestyle that is commonly associated with musicians. But all of that changed when he started dating "Nic," as he affectionately refers to his wife.
"Before then I didn’t really know what I was doing. Now I know exactly what I’m doing and it all makes sense," he explains. "I feel very, very fortunate that I’ve met somebody like Nic and we share the same kind of ideology."
Part of that ideology includes becoming a family man. Urban and Kidman share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. The award-winning country star said that the day Sunday Rose was born was the happiest day of his life.
“For me, Sunday used to be the loneliest day of the week because nobody’s hanging out on a Sunday,” he recalled. "They’re all with their families and I used to dread Sundays. But when I met Nic, it became my favorite day of the week because we always spent it together."
These days, Urban's Sundays--and the rest of his days--are jam-packed with family time, songwriting, recording and judging the upcoming season of 'American Idol.' Despite his busy schedule, it sounds like his marriage is better than ever.
