Kellie Pickler Decides to Go Indie in New ‘I Love Kellie Pickler’ Clip [Exclusive Premiere]
Kellie Pickler's back in a new season of her hit reality show I Love Kellie Pickler, and in a brand-new preview, she decides she'll go it alone for the release of her next recording project.
Pickler parted ways with Black River Entertainment in 2016, and in the clip above, which is debuting exclusively with Taste of Country, she decides to take the plunge and invest in self-releasing her new music during a trip to Las Vegas to rehearse for the ACM Awards.
She breaks the news to her husband, songwriter-producer Kyle Jacobs, after she gets back from rehearsals, and though she's been hesitant about the big weight of the decision, his reaction is nothing but supportive.
"It's gonna be different, not having the power of a huge record label," she acknowledges. "That support and promotion ... you have like an army of people pushing your song."
"It'll be interesting. When you think about it, this is the first time that I actually own my name," she adds. "It's a great feeling, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that it's a little intimidating at the same time."
Kyle jumps in to help his wife start laying out the next steps, and they agree the first order of business is to find a producer.
"Do you know any?" she asks.
"Well, you're sleeping with one," he replies, to which Pickler quips, "Oh geez ... you know about that?"
I Love Kellie Pickler was a runaway hit in its first two seasons on CMT. Season 3 kicked off Aug. 3, with new episodes airing Thursday nights at 11PM ET/10PM CT on CMT. The episode above is set to air on Thursday (Aug. 17).
