Thanksgiving Day 2018 in New York City (Nov. 22) may have been a bit of a chilly affair, with temps dropping into the low 20s and gusty winds making things feel even frostier. However, Kelly Clarkson managed to bring some heat to the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade—both literally and figuratively.

The singer performed her song “Heat,” off her Meaning of Life album out in the stark cold, and her firey delivery definitely raised the thermometer. She was backed by a full band, and appeared to be actually singing the song rather than lip-syncing (which can be common for artists doing parade performances, especially in frigid weather).

Clarkson herself cheerfully admitted the weather was less than welcoming, tweeting about frozen toes during her "very cold Thanksgiving moment," but noted that she'd been "beggin' the Lord for winter." Not a bad way to usher the cold-weather season in!

The Voice coach was one of a large lineup of performers from all musical genres—including Diana Ross, John Legend, Bad Bunny, Kane Brown, Ella Mai, Martina McBride, Pentatonix, Rita Ora, Sugarland, Barenaked Ladies, Leona Lewis, Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke, Bazzi, Ashley Tisdale, Carly Pearce and more.

Clarkson has plenty to be thankful for this holiday season, as she'll be introducing a new daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, in 2019, as well as setting out on her Meaning of Life Tour with opener Kelsea Ballerini.
