Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson share the spotlight in a new video for Lynn's powerful "Lay Me Down," a duet with Nelson on her latest album Full Circle. The song itself is a poignant one that has the two legends trading verses and singing of being at peace when their time on earth comes to a close.

Filmed at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium, each singer is shown backstage and at the empty venue getting ready for a show together later that night. Directed by David McClister, "Lay Me Down" gives a glimpse inside Lynn's dressing room, which includes her choice of sparkling gowns lined up on hangers for her performance that evening.

Meanwhile, Nelson is on the stage and in his tour bus singing along to the ballad before Lynn join him on stage as they sing the last chorus to an empty arena. As the song comes to a close, the two old friends embrace with a big hug.

"Me and Willie hit [Nashville] about the same time," Lynn tells Rolling Stone Country. "I always loved Willie. He's always been a great guy, and he was always so nice to me. He wasn't one of those guys hanging around just trying to go with you, or nothing like that. He was writing songs trying to make a living. . . Willie was a great songwriter when I met him, and it took him longer to realize he was a singer, too. He's so good."

"Lay Me Down" is a song off of Lynn's latest album Full Circle. Her first album since 2004's Grammy-winning Van Lear Rose, Full Circle debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart.

According to Billboard, Full Circle is Lynn's second album to reach the Top 40 on the all-genre list, following Van Lear Rose, which debuted and peaked at No. 24.
