Country superstar and American Idol judge Luke Bryan 's latest single, "Knockin' Boots," has risen to the top spot on Billboard's Country Airplay charts. According to Billboard, the song gained 7% on country radio this week to achieve an audience of 39.4 million.

"Knockin' Boots" also rises on the Hot Country Songs chart where it reaches a peak of No. 2, up from its previous peak of No. 3 last week.

In addition, the son becomes Bryan's 21st No. 1 single and moves him into prestigious territory as he now ties fellow country stars Jason Aldean and Keith Urban for the sixth-most No. 1 singles on the chart ever. Kenny Chesney is the current chart champion with 30 No. 1 singles; followed by Tim McGraw, who has 29,; followed by Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Blake Shelton who all tie with 26 No. 1 singles.

Some of Bryan's most famous No. 1 singes include "Someone Else Calling You Babe," "I Don't Want This Night to End," "Play It Again" and "Huntin' Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day."

Bryan's latest single was written by Jon Nite, Hillary Lindsay and George Sampson. After learning about "Knockin' Boots" going to No. 1, Luke took to Twitter to thank the songwriters as well as the fans and country radio for supporting the song.

"Huge thank you to fans, radio and my team for this #1. I think this song is so fun and it's such a blast singing it. Again thank you to everyone who supports me and allows me to do what I love. Shout out to writers @Gordie_Sampson [George Sampson], Hillary Lindsay, and Jon Nite. Love y'all," said Bryan.

"Knockin' Boots" is the lead single from Bryan's upcoming seventh album and follows the No. 2 peaking song "What Makes You Country" from Bryan's last studio album of the same name. Bryan is currently on his Sunset Repeat Tour with a list of dates and tickets available here.
