Maren Morris Reveals How She Found Out She Was Pregnant

Maren Morris recently revealed how she discovered that she was pregnant, and how she shared that special moment with her husband, Ryan Hurd.

The 29-year-old was at home in Nashville when she found out the big news, and being a musician, what else was there to do but pour the excitement into her art? "I wrote a song — I had a co-write the day that I took the pregnancy test," she told Taste of Country Nights in an interview.

"I couldn't think about anything else, so I have a song that I wrote about it," she said. "I'm sure there'll be more as I continue writing."

As for her husband finding out, the "Girl" singer couldn't contain her excitement and had to tell him right away. "I told him first," she enthused. "I called, because I was on my way to the write, and he was at like a fitting or something. But luckily we were both in town so we could celebrate that night. We were so excited."

Morris has been sharing pregnancy updates on her social media accounts, including a heartwarming video of her baby boy waving in the womb. "That was a real thing," she shared about the sonogram video. "It wasn't animated!"

"The last time that we saw him on an ultrasound, he was like the size of a peanut, so now that we're halfway to my due date, it just feels way more real in a physical sense," the singer said. "It was almost like he waved at me 'Good luck' ... It choked us up because it was like, oh my God, he's actually moving in there ... it's a person, and we're just so excited to meet him."

The couple's son — their first child — is due in March 2020. Morris and Hurd met as country songwriters in Nashville and married in March of 2018. The happy couple announced their pregnancy via an Instagram photo last month.
