Martina McBride Joins ‘Opening Act’ Show With Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley
It seems like these days, everyone is jumping on the country music bandwagon -- even television shows! Country music was already well-represented on the small screen with Blake Shelton on 'The Voice' and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles on 'Duets.' And now, E!'s new show 'Opening Act' has added Martina McBride to the list of country stars making waves on television.
'Opening Act' is not terribly similar to other reality shows like it. In E!'s version, 'Idol' producer Nigel Lythgoe, Mary J. Blige and a producer scour the internet to find talent. Once they find promising YouTube celebs, they kick them into high gear with a five-day boot camp, then open up the stage for them have the opening slot for a popular artist. How cool is that? Country stars Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley hopped on board the show a while ago, and now McBride is joining their ranks, looking for potential openers.
Non-country stars who will be looking for an opener on the show include Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart and LMFAO. It sounds like 'Opening Act' is trying to cover all genres, but maybe they're a little bit biased toward country music. After all, we are, too!
'Opening Act' premieres July 9 at 10PM ET on E!
