Peyton Manning and Dierks Bentley Duet on ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ [Watch]
When football star Peyton Manning celebrates something, he invites all of his famous friends to the party. Dierks Bentley was on hand at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital on Friday night (May 8), and took the stage with the sportsman for a duet of the Johnny Cash classic "Folsom Prison Blues."
Manning's hospital held its 8th Annual Celebration of Caring Gala at the hospital in Indianapolis. Even though he's no longer a Colt, the player still give back to the Indy community, and he asked Bentley to come give a helping hand, too.
The country singer rocked his normal concert uniform of a graphic T-shirt and jeans, but Manning was dapper in a blue suit and red tie. Although Manning may not be quite as talented a vocalist as Bentley, it was still a once-in-a-lifetime performance to witness. Manning gave it his all nonetheless and, of course, it was for the kids. Bentley smiled and laughed alongside the football player.
The annual event is an important one to the hospital. Over the years it has raised more than $7 million, and with the new funds, they launched another campaign that will cost roughly $8 million dollars and will give families with children either in longterm care or the NICU a place to stay, according to Fox 59.
This isn't Manning's first attempt at music. Remember the fantasy football rap duet with his brother Eli Manning? The quarterback has a great personality, and despite knowing that he may be better at football than singing, he isn't afraid to have a little fun for a good cause!
