Rascal Flatts fans are getting a last-minute surprise from their favorite trio: an all-new studio recorded version of the modern Christmas classic 'Mary Did You Know.' The song travels back in time to ask the Virgin Mary if she was aware of just who her son would turn out to be.  (Hint: the Baby Jesus!)

Over a tender piano introduction, the band - Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and JoeDon Rooney - sweetly and respectfully ask their questions:

"Mary, did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water? / Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? / Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?  /This child that you delivered will soon deliver you."

The track builds momentum as drums, bass and a distant lead guitar join the mix. Eventually the vocal lines start to twist and fold into each other as the song builds to a heartfelt, impassioned crescendo.

'Mary Did You Know' is sure to help Rascal Flatts further dominate the holiday country music airwaves. Already, their takes on the classic Christmas songs 'Jingle Bell Rock' and 'I'll Be Home for Christmas' are racking up massive amounts of spins, as you can see in our story about radio's most popular Christmas songs of 2010.
