Scotty McCreery took a break from what he calls "this singing thing" to visit the Major League Baseball (MLB) Network studios and Fan Cave recently. McCreery, a lifelong baseball and Boston Red Sox fan, played pool, watched some playoff baseball and signed the autograph wall after filming a few videos promoting his upcoming performance of the National Anthem before game one of the World Series.

"To sing at the World Series game with the National Anthem, it's the biggest stage in baseball ... so it'll be pretty amazing for me," McCreery says. In the video at MLB.com, he talks about how important sports and baseball are in his life. The singer shares that he's big fan of fellow Raleigh resident Josh Hamilton, who plays for the Texas Rangers. Like McCreery, Hamilton is a very strong Christian who puts his faith above everything in his life.

The 'Clear as Day' album-maker also gushed about his love for sports in a recent video blog at his official website. He admitted that ESPN's 'Sportscenter' is his favorite show, but he follows his local teams closely. Of course he gave a shout out his high school football team; the Garner Trojans are undefeated this year.

After leaving the MLB Network studios in New York, McCreery flew across the country to tape an appearance on NBC's 'Tonight Show With Jay Leno.' His new album is now available, and it peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes charts after just one day.
