Is Scotty McCreery's fiancee's name pronounced "Gabby?" Or is it "Ga-BYE"? At least one country superstar thinks it's "Debbie," but that story is just one of five things we're guessing you don't know about Gabi Dugal, the young woman McCreery is set to marry in 2018.

The "Five More Minutes" singer tells Taste of Country Nights that Luke Bryan said "Hi Debbie!" when he introduced Gabi (pronounced "guh-BEE") to him awhile back. The couple had been dating for years by that time, but Dugal was a little shy, so they kept it low-key. Well, she was in a few of his music videos ("The Trouble With Girls," "Feelin' It," "Five More Minutes"), but other than that McCreery didn't really share to many details about their lives together.

The University of North Carolina grad is a pediatric nurse at Duke University, so McCreery splits time between states so he can be with her and vice-versa. It's not clear how they'll handle that moving forward. With a new record deal and a Top 40 single, his career is starting to heat up once again but Duke is also world-renowned hospital.

Worth noting is that McCreery graduated from North Carolina State University, UNC's cross-town rival. So yeah, it's a little like a Hatfield marrying a McCoy or a Shark marrying a Jet (Or a Bayside HS kid marrying a girl from Valley, if you love Saved by the Bell). They've been dating since both were seniors in high school, but met in kindergarten. Now that's an unbelievably sweet story!

McCreery and Debbie Gabi were engaged on Sept. 26 after hiking up Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina.

"I’ve been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened," he said, later admitting that all his friends knew about it. "Gabi is the perfect girl and my true love, and I cannot wait to begin building our life together as husband and wife."
