There's one part about being the most famous 17-year-old in America that 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery wasn't prepared for: the girls. He told the Q-Morning Crew on WQDR in Raleigh, N.C. that he hasn't quite gotten used to "Scotty's Hotties" screaming his name every time he steps out in public.

"You ask anybody back at Garner High, it wasn't like that before the show," McCreery quipped this week, just minutes after leaving the 'Live! with Regis and Kelly' set in New York City.

McCreery has embarked on a full scale media blitz since being chosen over Lauren Alaina in last week's results show. It hasn't been all business, however. Last week he snuck home to North Carolina take a necessary English test. “I miss school," he admits. "I mean what I'd give to go sit in English class again. I'd never fall asleep in class again.”

While home, his dad let him get behind the wheel of the family truck for his first post-Hollywood drive. Within seconds of putting the vehicle in gear, his debut single, 'I Love You This Big,' came on the radio. One figures McCreery will get used to that, as the song has been setting records since its release last Wednesday.

Next up for McCreery: the CMA Music Festival, where he says he'll perform, meet with record label executives to discuss songs for his debut album, and present an award at the CMT Music Awards. While he tells WQDR that a duet with Alaina would be great, he says it probably won't happen on this upcoming project.
