Scotty McCreery sang the National Anthem at Game 1 of the World Series tonight, which features the American League's Texas Rangers at the National League's St. Louis Cardinals. There was one malfunction, and it had nothing to do with McCreery or the lyrics!

The microphone wasn't working at first, and it looked like Scotty was singing -- but no sound was coming out of his mouth. It took a minute before things were rectified and that bellowing, deep and instantly recognizable voice filled Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Wearing a pair of jeans and a green windbreaker with the words "World Series" scrawled across the front, which was the same one that First Lady Michelle Obama was also wearing, McCreery's version of the song was just about flawless. No flubbed lines. No skipped verses. No made up words. No changing of the melody. No big mistakes! It was simply the National Anthem, Scotty McCreery style. It was beautiful, loyal and effective.

Since he's such a huge baseball fan, this was probably one of the biggest moments of the teen's young life. He took this task quite seriously and barely cracked a smile until the very end. Great job, Scotty.
