If you're anything like us, you can't wait for new music from Scotty McCreery! The singer stopped by to chat with Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex and dished on where he is with his new album, and when we can expect the first song.

McCreery has been working long and hard trying to get new music to his McCreerians, and he's already got a pretty good start.

“We’ve been in the studio the last two days gettin’ it started, so we’ve cut five songs now for the new record," McCreery spills. "And we hope to have a new single out in about a month or two."

Expect to hear the song this summer, when the North Carolina native hits the road with Rascal Flatts. Given the heat and his own rising star, McCreery is making sure those dates are as comfortable as possible, so instead of sharing a bus with his band, he's shelling out a little extra cash for a place to call his own (and to share with friends and family).

“It’s always coming out of my pocket, so I’m not doing it the whole year, ‘cause it is a chunk of change," the 21-year-old dishes. "But we’ll do it a little bit when we’re out with Rascal Flatts.”

When in Rome, right?

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
