Scotty McCreery is no stranger to charitable foundations, specifically St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. And it seems he has inspired his fans to give back, too.

McCreerians have gone above and beyond to create “The Southern Belles" — a team named for their favorite singer's new single, “Southern Belle" — to participate in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer in Nashville at the end of September. The group is inviting McCreery fans everywhere to support the cause by joining the team or donating money in the Southern Belles name.

"I've always said I have the greatest fans in the world, and it makes me both happy and proud to see them create ‘The Southern Belles’ as a way of raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” McCreery gushes. "St. Jude performs miracles regularly for children from all walks of life. I am truly honored and thankful that my fans want to support such a worthwhile organization in my name."

To join the Southern Belles, go here to sign up to walk with the team, or to simply donate money to support the cause. Each person who donates will be entered in a drawing for a Scotty McCreery prize pack.

The St. Jude Walk/Run will take place on Sept. 26 at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville. The event has a goal to raise $210,000 for the cause, and the Southern Belles say that they are excited to help the hospital reach its goal.

"Southern Belle," the song, is the first official glimpse of new music we've heard from McCreery that will be a part of his upcoming album. The release is yet to have a name or release date.
