Trace Adkins Closes Out Friday’s ToC Fest Lineup With Ballads, Crowd-Pleasers – Pictures
Day 2 of the Taste of Country Music Festival drew to a close with a major bang. Thousands of country music fans piled onto Hunter Mountain on Friday (June 14) to witness the greatness that is Trace Adkins -- and he didn't disappoint.
With his long hair flowing, the recent 'Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars' winner commandeered the stage with a blend of ballads and playful lines, delivering a full concert set with his deep baritone along for the ride.
After telling the crowd to express themselves however they see fit, Adkins revealed to the audience, "Me personally, I'm probably just gonna get naked" -- which, of course, was met with one large, collective scream (he didn't). "I'm proud to be here tonight," he added, leading in to his song 'Proud to Be Here.'
We were proud to have him. From there, the Friday ToC Fest headliner delivered ... and delivered ... and delivered again. He started with hits like 'Hot Mama' and 'This Ain't No Love Song' before offering soulful covers and hits like 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk' and 'Songs About Me.'
The first-ever Taste of Country Music Festival is already giving next year's fest a run for its money. The fun continues Saturday with performances from Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum and more.
