Trace Adkins to Portray Truck Driver in New Movie ‘The Healer’

Trace Adkins is no stranger to the silver screen. The 'Just Fishin'' hitmaker showed off his developing acting skills as Eddie Vogel in 'The Lincoln Lawyer,' and will again hit the big screen portraying the truck driver in the upcoming film, 'The Healer,' expected out in 2012.

The supernatural thriller centers around a divorced father who is preparing to undergo life-threatening surgery and his two sons. In order to regain the relationship that he once had with his teenage twins, he takes them into the woods ... Which turn out to be haunted.

According to The Boot, Adkins' role is an important one, as he plays the Truck Driver (that's his character name!) who takes people to hell. While we're not totally sold on the plot line, we think Adkins has a seemingly cryptic presence that would work for the character he's been assigned, and we can't wait to watch one of our favorite country stars in theaters again!

'The Healer,' which is being directed and was written by Giorgio Serafini, is currently shooting in North Carolina and has a tentative release date of 2012.
