Zac Brown Animates as ‘Robo Redneck’ in ‘The Wind’ Video
Zac Brown Band are animated in the video for their latest jam 'The Wind' from the forthcoming 'Uncaged.' The band didn't hire just any old animator for this clip. They pulled out the big gun in the form of 'Beavis & Butthead' and 'King of the Hill' creator Mike Judge, who fashioned the hilarious protagonist Robo Redneck aka the Six Million Dollar Honky.
Judge sure got it right, nailing all the nitty gritty details, from Brown's beard to his beanie. He also has fun with the other graphics he creates related to the storyline.
Brown and his boys perform on stage at an outdoor fest and engage in a little recreational vehicle mischief in the murky swamps of Georgia. The southern fried, 'Terminator'-like creation, aka the Robo Redneck, is fueled by Jack Daniels and other frosty beverages. The Robo Redneck, the alter ego of Brown himself, cannot be stopped.
Other elements of the vid include tractors, thrown' axes and taxidermied ducks and dinosaurs (yes, dinosaurs!) Hillbillies also abound in this amazing clip. If you are a fan of ZBB and of Judge's work, this video is entertainment nirvana for you.
Overall, it's a fun and funny vid that captures the essence of Brown's brand of country music. It also ends with a teaser that features Robo Redneck vs. the Bionic Peckerwood. We haven't seen the last of the Robo Redneck. Thank God for that!
