The 'Gone Country' singer's longtime band is the Strayhorns, but the group he played with prior to landing a deal with Arista was Dixie Steel, named after the label on a box of nails in the basement of a band member's house. As far as we can tell, Jackson is referring to Penn-Dixie Nails, which are no longer produced, as the company went out of business.
