4. Her dad's a pretty talented musician, too!

In June of 2012, Alaina told a crowd about her first guitar player: her father, JJ Suddeth. "Before I tried out for American Idol, I used to sing around town a lot, and, um, this really special person in my life would play the guitar for me," she said before Dad walked onstage to help her sing "When You Say Nothing at All." Alaina will be the first to admit that her family life hasn't always been easy, but the Father's Day performance left both father and daughter fighting back tears.
