BlackHawk are spreading joy this Christmas season! The veteran country group are set to release a new collection of Christmas favorites, and they're letting Taste of Country readers hear their rendition of "Joy to the World" first in this exclusive premiere.

The band are set to release The Spirit of Christmas on Friday (Oct. 18). The 10-song album features BlackHawk's new renditions of all-time holiday classics including “Silent Night,” “Away in a Manger,” “The First Noel,” "We Three Kings" and more.

"Our song selection for The Spirit of Christmas features the traditional musical messages of the Christmas season," lead singer Henry Paul says. "This album was deeply gratifying to make, and I feel it's an inspired musical backdrop to the most magical time of the year. The unique interpretation of these familiar compositions along with acoustic instrumentation and three-part harmony vocals, plays directly into the BlackHawk musical personality.”

BlackHawk shot to national prominence with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1994. That album scored hits including "Goodbye Says It All," "Every Once in a While," "That's Just About Right" and more. The group went on to score a string of hits that included "I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No," "Like There Ain't No Yesterday," "There You Have it" and others.

The Spirit of Christmas is BlackHawk's first-ever holiday collection. The album is currently available for pre-order across a variety of digital music retailers.
