Tim McGraw Tributes ‘Sexiest Man’ Blake Shelton With Hilarious Country Classic [Watch]
Blake Shelton may never hear the end of it after People crowned him the Sexiest Man Alive in 2017. Tim McGraw is the latest of Shelton's friends to react to the news by poking fun at the good-humored country superstar.
McGraw and wife Faith Hill appeared on the Tonight Show on Thursday night (Nov. 16), and the following day, McGraw turned to Instagram to share a special musical tribute to Shelton's newfound status that he and his band worked up in the dressing room. Click on the video above to hear McGraw sing Mac Davis' 1980 hit, "It's Hard to Be Humble," in which the singer jokingly brags about how difficult it is to maintain humility in the face of popularity and success.
"My name is Blake Shelton, and I'm the sexiest man alive," McGraw states comically at the end of his performance, as his band breaks into enthusiastic applause.
Don't Forget These Other Sexy Country Men!
McGraw joins several other country stars who reacted to Shelton's honor, including Luke Bryan, who was shown the magazine cover backstage at the taping of the 2017 CMA Country Christmas special.
"He's taken so many things from me and now this? Who in the hell is choosing this? Am I being punked?" Bryan asked.
Trace Adkins turned to social media to share an awkward photo of Shelton from his teenage years, drily observing, "this picture was taken before he learned how to be sexy from me."
Shelton himself seems to find his pick hilarious. In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, he vowed that his ascension to Sexiest Man Alive status would herald the return of the mullet.
"I have been fat and ugly my whole life, and if only for one year I get to be sexy, I am going to milk this for everything that it's worth," he says.
