Brantley Gilbert "Man That Hung the Moon" video is his most personal to date, as it features the singer in his happy place: with his wife, Amber, and young son, Barrett.

The new music video shows the intersection of Gilbert's professional life and personal life through the superstar's eyes. We're just flies on the wall for sweet family moments backstage and in the recording studio, like Gilbert's almost 2-year-old on his shoulders while his wife Amber looks on.

Brantley Gilbert's "Man That Hung the Moon" Is a Tear-Jerker

"Lost my breath when I saw you take your first / My whole world stopped like that / And I ain't the cryin' type / But I just saw your eyes / Words just can't describe what I see / You look just like me," the once tough guy singer sings of his children. Amber is pregnant with the couple's second child, a girl, they revealed in March.

"They're gonna know sooner than other [children know about their dads] that I'm not a superhero. I don't have a cape, and I can't fly," he told the Boot of writing "The Man That Hung the Moon." "I wanted them to have a song that they could listen to and know, 'At one point, you're gonna figure out I'm not a superhero, and you're gonna need more than me. Hopefully, I've done my job well enough to show you that when that time comes, there is a man who really did hang the moon, and who's got your back now, and always will.'"

The singer got the inspiration for the song right after the birth of his son.

"Kinda started the idea of it while we were in the hospital room with him," he tells ToC. "It's one of those things, it's just something I don’t think God made words for. Writing a song about it is harder than I ever thought it'd be but I do have one that's going on the new record that I'm really proud of."

That new record is expected this fall.
