Brothers Osborne won one of the big awards of the night at the 50th annual CMA Awards, taking home honors for Vocal Duo of the Year on Wednesday night (Nov. 2).

The sibling duo beat out fellow nominees Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Joey + Rory and Maddie & Tae for the honor at the 2016 awards, and they seemed genuinely surprised.

"I hate to be that person who says I didn't prepare a speech ..." singer T.J. Osborne said after taking the stage, adding that he and his brother, John, were seated behind Florida Georgia Line and fully expected to be congratulating them on the award instead.

John Osborne was ebullient and emotional.

"We've been doing this so long," he said, seemingly nearly overcome with emotion at the big win. "To new artists out there, if we can do it, you can do it."

"Woohooo!" he screamed to finish.

The brothers have become one of the breakthrough successes of the last two years with their debut album, Pawn Shop, which has spawned two big hit singles in "Stay a Little Longer" and their most recent release, "21 Summer."
