Country Hopefuls Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Gabby Barrett Make it to ‘Idol’ Top 10
Keeping up with American Idol and its systemic elimination of contestants? Monday (April 23), was a big night, as the Top 10 were revealed live. Naturally this resulted in a great deal of nail-biting for both the talent and those of us at home pulling for our favorites. So, did your vote make a difference?
One country music favorite, Caleb Lee Hutchinson (who's been showing off an impressive 70-pound weight loss since his initial audition for the show) was voted through, then offered a version of "Gettin' You Home," by Chris Young. His rendition was (like all of his other performances) a totally self-assured exercise, showing off his deep and controlled vocal prowess.
Given that last night there were some mixed reactions to his performance by the judges, his fans are no doubt finally breathing easy — for the time being, anyway.
Also making it through was Gabby Barrett, who delivered a fire-powered version of Miranda Lambert's "Little Red Wagon" that had Katy Perry asking her in disbelief what she ate for dinner.
"Because that was so wild!" Needless to say, she cruised right through to the next level.
Keep checking back as we cover everything you'll need to know as the show gets down to the wire!
