Chris Stapleton’s ACM Awards Fairytale Continues With Male Vocalist Win
It goes without saying that Chris Stapleton had a really, really amazing night at the 2018 ACM Awards. After a big win and a surprise announcement, he topped it off by winning another top category!
Not only did he take home Album of the Year honors at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15), but he also became a daddy to newborn twin boys with wife Morgane. Earlier in the night, ACM host Reba McEntire walked out on the stage and made the stunning announcement that Stapleton had become a daddy again. “Those little rascals came a little bit early,” McEntire told the stunned Las Vegas crowd. “Hot off the press. Twin boys.” If that's not enough, April 15 was Stapleton's birthday!
That would be enough for anyone to call it a night, right?
Wrong. Stapleton's night wasn't over yet.
In fact, Stapleton added to his fairytale night when he ended up also being named the winner of the Male Vocalist of the Year title, beating out fellow competitors Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban and Chris Young. And while Stapleton was obviously not in attendance in Las Vegas to deliver a worthy acceptance speech, his fellow competitors in the MGM Grand audience seemed thrilled to see their friend have such an unbelievable night.
Heck, we bet him and wife Morgane are having quite a celebration this evening! Congrats to the whole little family! And what makes all of this news even better is the fact that Stapleton will be home to enjoy it for a little while, as he's not scheduled to play any shows until May when he plays the Country 500 in Florida. The summer will also have him playing CMA Fest in Nashville and a special concert with the Eagles in Texas.
