Dan + Shay Announce Fall Headlining Tour
Dan + Shay have been lighting up the charts with their most recent single "From the Ground Up," so they’re taking that success on the road with a fall headlining tour. The Obsessed Tour, featuring Walker Hayes as support, will kick off Nov. 10, hitting 15 cities around the U.S. and Canada before wrapping Dec. 17.
“We have been so humbled by the response to our new album and can’t wait to perform live for our fans this fall,” says Dan Smyers in a release. “Our fans inspired the title of the Obsessed album, so it was only fitting to name the tour after the album.”
Obsessed is the duo’s second record, following 2014’s Where It All Began, which earned the duo their first No. 1 song. The title of the new album is inspired by their fans, the band says, who kept using the word all over their social media accounts to describe its lead-off single, “From the Ground Up.” The tune just hit No. 1 on the Billboard country charts.
“We are also so grateful to everyone for help making ‘From the Ground Up’ No. 1,” Shay Mooney admits. “This is such a personal song for both of us, and we are thrilled that people have loved the song as much as we do.”
Written by Smyers, Mooney and Chris DeStefano, the ballad is inspired by each member of the duo’s grandparents, a tribute to those who are able to find that special person and love them their whole lives.
