Dierks Bentley gave the audience at Ellen a break from the cold, taking them to the coast with his new single {Somewhere on a Beach" on Tuesday (Jan. 19). The artist debuted the new song from his upcoming 8th studio record, Black, bringing his signature swagger to the laid-back tune telling off an ex.

Bentley took the mic sans guitar, donning his slick black leather jacket, singing the sassy lyrics with a smirk: “Bet you think I’m sittin’ at home — nah / bet you think I’m all alone — nah.” The song goes on to declare his happiness far away from his ex, enjoying paradise with his new flame. Bentley infiltrated the audience to dance with a few fans, including host Ellen DeGeneres, and check out the interview chairs before the song was over.

After the performance, the singer had one more order of business. He surprised one lucky fan with tickets to go to a music festival in Florida at which he is performing, and on top of that, to fly in a private jet with five friends to get there. The fan who won literally jumped up and down, squealing with excitement, to the point that Bentley had to take a step back from her. It’s probably safe to say she and her friends will have a great time at the festival thanks to Bentley.

Bentley’s new record does not yet have a release date, but he says it will be very personal.

“The songs on Black range from the lonesomeness of an impossible relationship to ones that describe the feeling of finding that person that makes you forget the one that broke your heart,” he explains.

The name of the record is symbolic not just of the dark times in life, but of his wife Cassidy, as her maiden name is Black.

Bentley is slated to host the 2016 ACM Awards with Luke Bryan on April 3, about which he told DeGeneres he is a little nervous. “I’ve never done it before, so we’ll see how it goes,” he admits. Bentley's Somewhere on a Beach Tour kicks off in April.
